They are no different from any other large corporation. Don't let this bother you. They never stated they are a non for profit by any means. We know they have many avenues to generate money from certifications to BGC, to supplies and then selling themselves to lenders and title companies as the largest and foremost in the industry for all things notary, which is true. I am sure they give those people incentives for making us buy all things XYZ. If we don't, we only limit ourselves. So far I have avoided them, but not the best decision for me any longer if I want to expand my network of companies to work for.

They started me out in 2005 and took a good sized chunk of money, then I dropped them following all my next notary renewals, but unfortunately this renewal period for my BGC I have to join their ranks again because this is what most companies are looking for now. I am limiting my abilities by digging my heels in for absolutely no reason other to appease my own-self dignity. Nobody else is boycotting them, and all's I am doing is hurting myself by not getting their BGC and perhaps certification, while other's are grabbing up the closings near by me who do.

You can't really expect any of the head brass to be working hard do you? All major CEO's play golf and travel wine and dine with the title companies and lenders, SS's negotiating deals to make them money. That's what they do and make their quarterly numbers. They delegate some worker bee to send emails out like they are interested and working for our behalf, which is nonsense, but looks good. Bottom line: sprinkling pixie dust on newbies getting them to join and get excited and buy their products and promise a 6 figure income. Sure 6 figures over how many years combined? haha

They are the monopoly on everything notary...and they sleep very well at doing it. After they get your money every year, you are nothing to them. It all revolves around renewals and forcing us to pay every single year for a BGC. They used to be good for 2 years...guess who changed that?
Lets throw in a boring party, call it a convention for tax purposes, get some free advertising from SS's and major players to talk about us and our future, (all expenses paid for them of course),and charge each notary $500.00+ to go! Yeah, another money maker for them. I couldn't think of a more boring place to be for that price. I'd rather take a nice 3 day cruise and relax and sip margarita's reading my state notary handbook then go there.

Oh well...slowly I am conforming because I want to work and pay my bills, but they will not get anymore from me than absolutely necessary in this biz.
