VT Office of Prof.l Reg. now accepting notary applications

Don't forget to use a browser that works with this website: Edge, Internet Explorer, or Chrome.

Outline:

Download the oath form, print it, and have another notary notarize it. Scan the resulting paper.

If you don't already have a web account with the Office of Professional Regulation, establish one. If you already have one because you're an accountant, nurse, land surveyor, etc. use your existing account.

Add "notary public" as a new profession.

Fill out the forms online.

Upload the scan of the oath form.

Pay (unless you are in a government position that makes you exempt from the fee, in that case, check the appropriate boxes).

Wait.

Once approved, download your commission. If you want, print it.

Wait for stamp vendors to figure out what to do.

Using your shiny new commission number, order a stamp for use beginning July 1, 2019.
