I think he was pulling your "toe". As a certified live scan fingerprint technician myself, this is not even an option. The customer would be scanned twice, just to verify results and sent into DOJ, then DOJ forwards to FBI, and so noted in their "FINGERPRINT" database. Lots of information is verified for correct ID...former and present addresses, DMV records, birth, marriage, divorce records, passport information, SSN, etc.

Myself, never saw any toes in the five years I scanned people's fingerprints, and now and again people with no discernable fingerprints due to hand lotions, latex gloves, concrete and mason contractors, etc.
