I doubt we're ever going to see the SC database get updated, but I agree with LD and the others that there's nothing else out there that's any better. So it's up to us to learn how to best use it. Cheryl described how to do a good 360 search and ProntoGirl gave us a perfect example of how well it works.
However, the one thing we CAN do to help make it better (at least for any companies that haven't already been added in some way) is to ALWAYS, ALWAYS enter ANYONE as national, not regional, since the only way it can be changed is by the site administrators. It seems pretty clear to me that this forum is not their primary business and they're not highly motivated to spend lots of time dealing with administrative issues. However, if you come across a situation where you believe a change should be made (especially if it involves a company name change), it couldn't hurt to email them to ask for an update. If they hear about a particular company enough, it may manage to get higher up on their priority list.
