This has never happened to me before so I really didn't know what to do. I was shocked, I was in pain, I really wasn't thinking straight, and I was totally embarrassed. I didn't want anyone to touch me or make a fuss over my injuries. I just wanted to get my closings done and go home.
After reading what a lot of you wrote, I may have handled it totally wrong. I just picked myself back up, dusted myself off, and got back in the saddle again. That is how I was raised and it was all I knew to do at that moment. Right or wrong . . . it was what I did.
I have an appointment with my doctor in the morning and I will have her access the injury to my arm and shoulder. For the time being, my neighbors have been so kind to bring me stuff, take out my garbage, fix me a nice lunch, take care of my little Willow (my sweet little yorkie), and look in on me.
I'm just going to say a little prayer that my injuries are not bad and that I can recover quickly. I have the top of the line car insurance and homeowner's insurance and will be calling to see if I am covered when visiting another person's property. Thank you to whoever mentioned the roofer having insurance.
I will keep everyone posted on my recovery and what happens next. We just don't think of these things happening, so I guess I add this to the long list of other things we must be aware of in this industry.
