I haven't seen the movie about him, so I don't know if it was accurate or they used some artistic license. I don't recall all of the stuff he stole, just that there was a lot of it and only some of it related to the NSA collecting private information on citizens.
I also misstated the swap that Wikileaks offered - it was Assange for Chelsea Manning, not Snowden. Manning was convicted by court martial of providing Wikileaks with almost a million classified or sensitive military and diplomatic documents and was in fact among those pardoned by Obama today. Now we get to see if Assange was bluffing. |
