Sen. Lindsey Graham said today that he wants to see information on Trump's business dealings with Russia.
Asked about this at the daily WH press briefing toady, the Spiceman said that the President was fine with that, and had just hired an outside law firm to send a certified letter to Graham stating that Trump had no business dealings with Russia.
Had we known that a certified letter from a lawyer was enough to settle the question, we could have saved a lot of time, money, and effort. That's a wrap, guys - he found a random lawyer willing to write a letter saying that there's nothing going on. And it must be true because the letter will be written by a lawyer AND will be certified. Move along, nothing more to see here....
How stupid does this guy think we are? I'm sure his base will buy it - he can tell them the sky is green with pink clouds and they'll believe him - but people capable of critical thinking will still have questions.
Both of his sons are on record several years ago as saying that virtually all of the money for the development deals comes from Russia. Which makes sense, because American banks stopped lending Trump money after his sixth bankruptcy. The money has to be coming from somewhere, and unless there's a printing press in the basement of Trump Tower, it's coming from offshore.
All could be resolved if he would just keep his promise from two years ago to release his tax returns so we can see who he is doing business with and where the money is coming from. But he won't do that because promises to him are just words that fall out of his mouth.
