Shouldn't elected officials have to pay legal fees when they

... violate citizens' civil rights forcing citizens to incur large legal bills while fighting for their rights in the courts (if they prevail)? When the courts rule that the elected official was wrong to discriminate, order her to start fulfilling her duties, as an agent of the government which she asked to be, when it comes to treating citizens equally, and to no longer violate other citizens civil rights the way she was found to have done in the case before the courts, isn't it only right that she, the losing side in this case, pay the legal fees of the party found to have been damaged by her actions?

Agents of the government should act as such and realize that their own personal feelings and beliefs are just that, their own; not beliefs that they have any right to thrust upon citizens while they are acting as an agent of the government. Personally, I think she should have been fired (impeached? per state laws?) -- Whatever the legal process would be in her case, she should no longer be an agent of the government.
