Fake News?
Posted by MikeC/TX of TX on 5/30/17 7:27pm Msg #70308
The Trump administration likes to complain about "fake news" from the media, but the phrase has lost its meaning. "Fake news" is not news you don't want to hear because it conflicts with your view of the world - it's "news" that is totally made up from whole cloth. So with that in mind, let's look at the "fake news" that has been propagated by the Trump Administration:

1) The size of the crowd at Trump's inauguration - what Kellyanne famously called "alternative facts". The video evidence shows this to be false.
2) The charge that there were 3 million illegal voters in the 2016 election, all of whom cast votes for Hillary, and Trump would have won the popular vote except for them. No evidence of this has ever been provided.
3) The claim that the Obama administration illegally "tapped" the Trump headquarters, which has never been proven. Trump insisted that Congress must investigate to find information that he already claimed to have. No evidence.

Go back a few years -

1) Trump claimed, based on an anonymous source, that Obama's birth certificate is false and that he was actually born in Kenya. There is no evidence to prove this.

2) Trump said he will release his tax returns as soon as Obama releases his birth certificate. Obama does so just to shut the idiots up; we're still waiting on Trump's tax returns.

Go back a few more years -

"John Barron", who claims to be Trump's publicist, contacts reporters in NYC to give them info on Trump and the women he is supposedly having sex with. Some of them are women Trump has never even met. "John Barron" is quickly identified by the NY media as Trump pretending to be someone else. (MULTIPLE reports, all published and available for review).

Trump knows fake news - he's used it during his career., and it's a big part of his administration. If he can get you to believe that what you are seeing is fake, he wins and you lose.

It's NOT fake when there are multiple sources confirming the same fact.
