Hundreds of "bots" - fake accounts programmed and controlled by an individual or group of individuals with an agenda - were out and about on Twitter yesterday, all promoting an almost identical message: "President Trump is doing something about Hurricane Harvey, unlike Obama who was too busy playing golf during Katrina."
These tweets were then picked up and re-tweeted by clueless Trump supporters who obviously didn't know that Katrina happened in 2005 and Obama wasn't President until 2009.
Someone tweeted a photo today of then Sen. Obama with former Presidents GHW Bush and Clinton and other officials at a shelter in Houston in 2005, talking with Katrina evacuees from New Orleans. Pictures were also tweeted of Obama interacting with victims of Sandy in 2011 - which DID happen during his presidency - and contrasted that with Trump's visit to TX yesterday which was basically just a photo op. He's supposed to be coming back here on Saturday, and it's hoped that this time he actually interacts with the victims and views some of the damage.
As an aside - http://twitteraudit.com, a service that determines how many of your Twitter followers are real based on several factors, reported that as of yesterday only about 47% of the 36 million Twitter accounts that follow Trump are real people - the rest could be "bots". About a month or so ago, the number of real Twitter accounts was a little over 50%.
