The Inspector General for HHS is looking into HHS Secretary Price's penchant for using private jets for travel, which is against federal policy - he's supposed to fly commercial. Price has racked up at least $300K in taxpayer costs that should have been a fraction of that, including a flight from DC to Philadelphia that cost roughly $25K and would have only cost about $800 on a commercial flight - less than $600 on Amtrak's Acela.
Treasury Secretary Mnuchin's travel habits are also being looked at by his IG - not for his request to have a private government plane for his honeymoon (which was correctly denied), but because of at least two other trips he actually took on taxpayer money. One was to Fort Knox with his wife, where they viewed the solar eclipse; the other was to and from NYC for the Trump news conference about Charlottesville. Again, about $25K each time for trips that should have been with commercial airlines.
The amount of entitlement in this administration is stunning - the US Treasury is just a big ATM for them, and it starts at the head.
Administration officials are being charged rack rate - no discount- to stay at a Trump property; the Secret Service has been charged $60K so far to rent golf carts on a Trump property in order to protect Trump while he plays golf... Think about that one - we have to pay HIM for what the Secret Service needs to use to protect HIM? If this fact alone doesn't bother you, you have truly drunk the Kool-Aid and believe Trump can do no wrong.
This is how we get corruption out of government? Isn't that what "drainng the swamp" was supposed to mean?
Speaking of golf - although Trump complained about how much Obama played golf, and actually said (we have it on tape) that golf was not important to him and he would not have time to play golf as President, he has been out there playing much more than Obama ever did. He lied about that. just as he lied about everything else.
Trumpsters, at some point you need to realize that if Trump's mouth is moving, he's lying to you. Always. Without fail. That is how he has always done business. Wake up and smell the covevfe... |
