As a former New Yorker, I always knew Rudy Giuliani was a pompous a$$ who loved the limelight, even when he was the US Attorney. The saying back then was that the most dangerous place to be in NYC was in between Rudy and a microphone. He was the "crime-busting" US Attorney who pulled stunts like this:

As weird as it may seem, that really happened - I remember it being reported by every newspaper and TV news program in NYC at the time. Look at that picture - even by 1986 standards, those outfits screamed "narc" and no dealer would have been fooled. What's more likely was that a real undercover agent made the buy while Rudy and Al were a few blocks away.
Rudy also likes to be known as "America's Mayor" because of his response to the 9/11 attack. In fact, he didn't do a whole lot more than other federal and federal officials were able to do, including then NY Senator Hillary Clinton, who he continues to falsely claim "wasn't there".
At the time, NYC was facing a mayoral election in November, and due to term limits, Rudy wasn't eligible to run. He attempted to use the 9/11 crisis as a reason to suspend the mayoral election and allow him to continue on as mayor for "several months". His request was rejected, and Mike Bloomberg was elected to replace him during the scheduled November election. You can Google this if you don't believe me...
And now Rudy has joined the Trump legal team, and with his sharp legal mind and desire to be in the limelight has just not only blown up Trump's defense in the Stormy Daniels incident but has also exposed Trump and Cohen to possible FEC violations and money-laundering charges.
