Well, it's been a week since Romeo was in an unfortunate accident with a Range Rover SUV, and his pelvis was fractured. He did not require surgery, he's been grounded. He rests comfortably on his bed on the deck right outside my bedroom window where I can watch him. He's on meds so he sleeps a good deal of the time so that his wound heals naturally. He's getting a lot of pigs ears and biscuits for treats because he's such a good boy. Lovable, sweet and now more alert. His tail is back at it. The tail wagging wildly when I approach is an excellent sign of his recovery and attitude (I could tell how rejected he felt after his incident). Yes, he's happy to see me, we've both had a good night's rest and ready for whatever comes our way today. We'll take a little stroll out to the vines and turn on the water before temps score to 90s plus today. Then he's back on his bed for the day, while I hit the road with a busy schedule for month end. It was over 107 in Ojai, 115 in Palm Springs and Arizona was pretty hot too, I heard from one of my signers yesterday who spent the weekend in Scottsdale.
I like 70s, but we're in a heat wave. Man oh man, it is very hot here. One of my friends from the hot springs is giving me 10 peacocks this weekend. I hope it's cooler around here by then. Romeo needs some company. Should be a lot of fun for him.
Stay cool everyone, and travel safely. |
