Take a look at the Logitech line - they have relatively inexpensive wireless keyboard and mice that are perfect for laptops. Look for the ones that offer the universal receiver - one receiver plugs into a USB slot, both devices automagically synch with it. I have a K360 keyboard and an M215 mouse that I use with my desktop, but the keyboard is small enough to work well with a laptop.
