Just got a call from a large freight company that needs 1,800 title transfers notarized (In TN) ASAP.
The signer is going to use a rubber stamp (issue 1).
The docs are basically from 47 different states, so each of those 47 is going to be slightly different (issue 2)
To journal each and properly document, fill in and stamp each page writing as fast as I can would take (1,800 x 2 minutes each) / 60 min/ hr / 8hr/ day = 7.5 days working non-stop. (issue 3)
That much writing would land me in the operating room for carpal tunnel syndrome and with no health insurance a bill of probably $40K.
Would a list of VIN numbers added to my journal and checked off and initialed by me and the signer be sufficient to record the notarization if I prefaced the list with "Title transfers of the following vehicles / (jurat or ack):"
Due to the issue of the signature by stamp, hours required, etc. I think I'm going to have to turn this one down. Sounds like they need a team of 10+ notaries to get this done by MONDAY.
I typically charge $5 per stamp, what would most of you charge as a bulk rate for this type of job?
(Ok, I've talked myself out of taking it) :-) Anyone wanna grab this opportunity? Southeast TN :-)
