I see a few problems.
If the notary holds the thermometer, the notary has to get closer than 6 feet to take the temperature.
These non-contact infrared thermometers are notoriously inaccurate. I think they're fine as a public health measure, to prevent people from participating in non-essential events like visiting a bar, going to a movie, etc. Even if they're not perfect, they can lower the overall transmission of the virus and help keep slow spread from turning into an outbreak.
But what happens when you use one of these unreliable thermometers, operated by an untrained person, to deny a person a financial service that may lead to a financial disaster for the signer? |
