Just one more thing... You said:

That’s certainly true. I used to tell students that. But I also told them that the best way to learn something is to try to figure out or find the answers on your own first. And if an employee tried asking before doing that on a job, they might be in need of a new one before long.
In many other businesses, owners pay hefty consulting fees to get answers to the kinds of questions that some people ask here. And instead of being grateful for others taking their personal time to offer opinions and advice for free, sometimes they've become upset because of the way it was said.
I think part of the problem may be in people having different expectations regarding what this site is all about. (It's natural to be disappointed and upset if one is expecting an apple tree to produce figs. ) I can't speak for anyone else, but I don't think I'm the only one here who just "calls 'em like I sees 'em..." Sometimes I'll agree and sometimes I won't. It's never personal.
