This business once upon a time was a whole lot more fun...but not lately. We've been sparring in the narrowing field of good companies, including title companies for several years now. Fees are being driven downward, I heard several years ago that $75 is being touted as the "going rate" for loan signings. Says who?
I had one today, refinance of investment property. I accepted it for $100, an hour later I'm on my way to sign with the borrowers, I get an SOS to fax back the 170 page package. I'm already stretched as tight as a rubber band can be without snapping, and I immediately go into panic mode because I already don't know how I'm going to be on time everywhere and do these fax backs ASAP. I suspect the EO wants to leave early, take her April paycheck to the Costa Mesa mall and blow it, while I'm out here sweating bb's. I just turned down three jobs for tonight.
My head hurts, and I need a margarita, but will refrain until I am safely and home later. 3 more signings, and I'm over it, til tomorrow.
I feel like a nap. Guess I'm lucky to have this much stress.
My brother showed me a Princess cruise he found in Westways magagine to Argentina in December, and say, hell yes, let's do it.
These are all the comments I have at the moment, they probably only matter to me, and that's okay. |
