Absolutely. And as we know, this is another one of those activities that used to be worth an extra $50, but now more often only pays $25. Many hiring parties aren't willing to pay anything extra and are trying to convince newbies that a scanback is just a standard part of doing a loan signing. Worse yet, too many notaries are willing to accept that or they settle for too little extra.
Newbies, please remember that at minimum, it first takes an investment in equipment that can do the job properly, plus additional time to scan and then securely (I hope) send the scan to the right party. In some cases, it also involves another trip out to drop off the documents, when we might have driven right by a drop-off location on the way home. Folks, please don't give away your services! If you want to donate your time, give it to a worthy non-profit...
