I work the Middle TN area and very rarely get an assignment from a local title company. Seems they concentrate on purchases and have the buyer close in their office - getting a notary commission in TN is as easy as popping a quarter in a globe and getting a gumball; therefore it's common that all employees are notaries public and can get the necessary signatures. I will get requests every now and then but it's usually a split signing when both parties can't get to the title company at the same time ~ or the title company cannot accommodate an evening or weekend closing. The Nashville area is the same as any other area, it depends on what you'll accept ($$$) I wouldn't consider moving to an area just for (maybe) more work - instead work your area and establish a relationship with title companies and decent signing services.
