UPL? That’s a stretch...
Posted by FlaNotary2 of FL on 12/17/20 5:59am Msg #627534
Personally, I don’t see a difference between typing in a certificate ahead of time and filling it out by hand. As long as the certificate is correct when I set my hand and seal to it, that’s all that matters.

The certificate is the notary’s jurisdiction. Editing a certificate does not constitute an edit to the underlying document. No one else has any say as to how I fill in a certificate. It will be done in compliance with state law. And I hardly think filling in a certificate can be considered UPL, no matter how they are filled in.

(Not a signing agent, just giving my two cents)
