You have a reason to take a copy of their ID if the TC or the lender requires it - it's a condition of the loan.
A copy of your ID? Nope, not gonna happen, no reason for it, not required by anyone as a condition of the loan, and probably just a power play on their part. The party that hired you may already have a (hopefully redacted) copy of your ID, so everyone who needs it already has it. If they insist, just call their bluff - pack up and leave. Watching the loan they wanted walk out the door may make them rethink their position. If not, it's not your problem... |
