My cable provider is Spectrum - used to be Time-Warner Cable, which was acquired by Charter a couple of years ago, and since then, things have started going downhill.
There's a long story that I won't bore you with about what finally drove me to cut the cord - it has a lot to do with the ineptness of the Spectrum service techs and the poor quality of the equipment they lease.
Like you, I have an OTA antenna for local channels, and since I tend to time-shift the programs I watch, I found a box that connects to the antenna (AirTV), integrates with Sling so I can see all available programs in the Sling program guide, and by connecting a spare hard drive allows me to record programs from OTA channels for later viewing. That was another one-time purchase of about $100.
You should definitely take a look at Sling. As I said, ALL of the cable channels I regularly watch, both entertainment and news - with the exception of HBO - are included for $25/mo. |
