I think checking in is a good idea. The pandemic is taking its toll in various ways- not just physically, but economically, emotionally and socially. If colleagues known for discussion sharing (who post regularly) are noticeably absent, our community should be concerned.
Some could be embarrassed that illness reached them or loved ones in spite of precautions enacted . . . or some who vehemently refused to work in view of legitimate fears, now having to reverse their stance for financial or other reasons; then there are those possibly being affected by virus due to the lack of diligence wishing to remain incognito. Whatever it is, if sharing experiences for Support or as Reminders for all not to let guard down, we are Listening - and FWIW trying to empathize with what fellow public servants are going through trying to keep themselves and their families, clients, neighbors Safe.
Sobering OP (and reminder that negative circumstances do not have jurisdiction) and wish that full recovery takes place for family.
P.S. Others may be sensing need now for more interaction with those close to them |
