I received a call from Cross Country Notary to perform a debt consolidation signing (they called it a BUSINESS MANAGEMENT & FINANCIAL SERVICES AGREEMENT signing). When I received the documents the company was called JDT Enrollment Group doing business as RJ Preparations of PO BOX 180585 Casselberry FL 32718 (hereinafter referred to as “RJP”). Red flags: the company is not a law group; they requested not only copies of the "Elderly" client's ID and utility bill but am impression of the "elderly" client's credit card which they were going to charge a total of ($5,422.05) (the “Fee”) no later than five (5) business days following the commencement of the Agreement. I called the "Elderly" client to confirm the appointment when she straight away told me she was uncomfortable with the company she spoke to, worried that it was a Scam. The "Elderly" client said that the company NEVER told her of the large service fee or needing an impression of her credit card. She told me she already gave them her credit card numbers (3 of them) and her social security number over the phone. Long story short, she cancelled the appointment and is calling her credit card companies to put a fraud alert on her credit reports and get new cards. I cancelled the appointment with Cross Country Notary after speaking with the "Elderly" client. |
