Hard to tell...They have been using RON in FL a few years now and haven't heard of any problem thus far as fraud goes. Hard to say, and I do think it could have potential issues, but so far haven't come across any cases to my knowledge nor could find any in a google search. If you can find one, please post it. How is it dangerous in Mortgage and deed fraud? The main cases here are people imposing as the owner and getting a notary to fraudulently notarize the Quitclaim deed signing the title over to someone in person. I think doing it online has more security checks and balances to navigate through, a recorded image, and a thief wouldn't go there. jmo. These are paid-off houses, 2nd homes, inheritance houses, vacant homes mostly which they think will slip under the radar. If there is an outstanding note/mortgage, I don't think anyone wants to take that over making payments and getting the lender involved. jmo Just curious though on that whole thing. I don't think it's going to take over and replace us here at all. It's been around and nobody on board except cash closings or foreign transactions I am aware of like Timeshares. |
