bagger's post is interesting. It would never have occurred to me to ask the hiring entity or title company for permission to change the county IF I was meeting the signer away from the property (like at a restaurant or signer's place of work), which was in a different county from the property.

Or, if the venue was based on where the title company is located (State of California, County of Los Angeles) when the property is in Vermont, I wouldn't bother to ask permission to change the venue.

But if I was meeting the signer, and they had the county wrong, I'd be worried they had the wrong county for the property throughout the package, including in the text of the mortgage and note. So I would be contacting the hiring entity or title company in that case.

bagger, which scenario applies to your signing?
