For one thing, I would never tell the signer how much I took the job for, whether it be $75 or $175. They can assume anything that they want to assume. I can't help the fact that they put a number on the settlement statement, which may or may not be the amount that I was actually getting paid. Fortunately, I'm rarely, if ever asked how much I'm being paid. If I am asked directly, I will somehow sidestep the question....with an answer like "not enough".
