Mattress Tag-Removal Prohibition Act of 1932
Significant advances in tagging and tagging methodologies have come about with the development of electronic tags. Most commonly used in mattress tags are the
Passive Integrated Transponder (PIT) Tags.
The PIT tag consists of a small glass-encapsulated electromagnetic coil and microchip. The tag is inert until it is activated inductively by a tag reader, which provides the power for the tag to transmit a unique alpha-numeric code. The system offers 34 billion codes and operates at 125 or 400 kHz.
Be well advised, that without the proper equipment to accurately diffuse the embedded nano-eprom chip from the mattress tag, you WILL be contacted by the ATF and NSA if it is torn. The 'Sealy' chip is non-encrypted, and the following code will de-sequence all security alerts.
