If you're going to work as a General Notary Public, you would charge based on how far you're traveling, how many notarizations are required and your time. You determine that by interviewing the caller. For GNW, there wouldn't be a set fee, like we do with loan closings, because you can charge for every notarization you do. Check with your state to see if they limit the amount you can charge for travel, which happens in some states. After interviewing the client, give them a base fee for you to go to their location and a base fee for them to come to a location that is close to you. Some clients balk at the cost of your service, but if they can get the service for a smaller price by meeting you somewhere, they'll do that.
