Agree UPS should get out of the business, but I don't necessarily agree it was the notary's fault. Maybe at the time the notary and she signed correctly and left the witness area blank and was filled in later by her? He's not a trained NSA nor needs to be. I am not familiar with that state's requirements, but I wouldn't jump on board is the notary's fault just taking her word for it. This is why banks quit notarizing these as well. Better to pay an attorney the $500.00 and get it done right for peace of mind. Can a UPS employee refuse notarial service if he feels fit? Just curious if he could have or if he would have been fired. |
