I'm with you on this one, too. As I've said here before, I've run into a number of folks over the years who have told me they've been victims of identity theft or fraud. What if someone we meet with experiences that AFTER our appointment with them? All they remember is that that notary took photos of their IDs.
My policy is to never have copies of people's personal IDs on my electronic devices if I can help it, especially when it's a photo taken in front of borrowers. |
