*These days, I’m told Inkjet print can appear as good as Laser quality although it doesn’t last as long ...*
I don’t recall who posted, the differences between ink and toner. Toner is actually heated and embedded into the paper, whereas ink only prints on top of the paper. That is the reason you feel the heat on a laser page as it comes out of the printer. Ink is expensive in comparison to the number of pages you can print. In addition to the ink fading, another reason laser printers are a requirement is that any drops (or more) of water on the pages make ink run. Wet toner pages will not run. Even if you at a closing don’t allow beverages or food around the signing docs, once out of your hands, there is a possibility that they could get wet on someone’s desk, and no matter “appearing as good as a laser,” once wet, is a dead giveaway that it’s an inkjet print job.
A laser printer bouncing around in your vehicle will have problems, too. Loose toner can get inside printer causing black and snugged pages when printed.
