One potential problem is that printing legal content on letter paper may reduce the font size on the printed sheet. If the document is scanned at the minimum font it could possibly be rejected for recording in a locality which enforces font size requirements. It has been my experience that the companies prefer all legal sheets to be printed at legal size and if they can't be sorted then package should be on all legal, rather than all letter.
