First, the information provided by the experienced closers concerning the title insurance is correct. I wonder why the borrower thinks it is important now??
Second, many years ago I stopped providing a business card after receiving calls about copies, escrow refunds, and other issues. My practice is to tell those asking for a card that I don't have cards (true), and that I have nothing further to do with the loan and that the lender is who to contact after we sign.
It is the best practice to keep a journal so that if an issue comes up years after the closing, you know who you met with, and what ID was presented, and any other unusual circumstances.
