I did a GNW for Stewart title a couple of months ago, only because the hiring party (individual) decided to turn it over to an escrow officer to make sure everything was being executed correctly.
I was in contact with the EO a number of times and after all was said and done, she wanted me to apply to be on their preferred notary list. When I received the app and the requirements, of course it stated I HAD to have the XYZ cert. So I sent everything that was required to her except that and I told her I would not be acquiring the XYZ cert. and stated my reasons. She emailed back and she said she did not understand why it was needed but that she was going to try and push the app through. I had not heard from her after a couple of weeks so I shot her an email.
She said, no, corporate said I needed the cert. I told her that was a "bummer" but that wouldn't be happening. She said she would use me for a "back-up" if the occasion came up. It's all BS and everyone knows it. |
