Can't count the times I've run into same situation, where mom is busy fixing lunch/dinner, chasing kids, loading washing machine, etc. and has absolutely no intention of sitting down and signing. The last time I was in this predicament, she kept shoveling bowls of food in front of hubby and me, insisting we eat, too, which we more or less had to do not to be rude, and it was so good (Stove Top pot pie, yum) I overlooked signing delay. But mostly, my response is (in the nicest sweetest way possible): Would you like to reschedule? Or we can reschedule if you like, or maybe we should reschedule for a better time, or something along those lines. Hubby would rather get attacked by a python than resked, so that works to get her to the table … and then it's up to me not to let her wander off. Don't go, I say! More docs to sign. We'll be through in a minute (haha) Usually works..
