I experimented and have a very light scarf, so I doubled it a few times and tied it to the side. I could still breathe but a few layers in between. Enough to stop any flying particles or protect me. Problem being, probably a 1-time use and need to wash it every time I come home. You can't tell inside from outside, but it's cute and will work without getting too hot or suffocating me.
Another thing that will work are the wide headbands, neckbands and just pull it up over your face, when not in use hangs around your neck. Too hot for FL though when it's 90 degrees.
