They are 2 different companies. I never had an issue with either one.
I would ask them to send you a copy of their voided check. They have to do that and see if they sent it to another notary.
Last week myself I got another notary's check for $1,000 from a company in Chicago. I called and let them know. It happens.
If that notary, and many out there will cash and try and get away with it is not caught, they do not know. If that the case, they can reverse it from the other party, but they need to act on it.
