I used to give hiring parties 30 minutes - but told them.

I'd hold the time open for 30 minutes only pending receipt of written confirmation. After 30 minutes I'd call and inquire and usually got confirmation immediately. Also told them then as far as I was concerned I was clear unless I get that confirmation.

Being EOM, or close to it, I might have given them a bit more than 10 minutes or so - could you have accommodated the signing at a later time? Still preserve the signing just shuffle the schedule a bit?
