Title365 doesn't want notaries to edit docs digitally
Posted by VT_Syrup of VT on 12/16/20 2:09pm Msg #627508
I just got an email from Title365. I've essentially retired from mobile notary work, but I'm still on their email list apparently. They were concerned that they were seeing a lot of lender docs being digitally dated. I imagine that means the notaries were using Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat to fill in date blanks. They were saying this would result in a fee reduction and redraw.

I personally never did this just for dates. On rare occasions I would do it on instruction from title if something in the notary certificate needed to be changed. The two main reasons I seldom did it were

(1) title might not like it, and

(2) I make an accidental change somewhere outside the notary certificate and not notice it.
