I've been planning a new garage. To figure out how far from the road the garage must be, I had to figure out where the edge of the road is. So I went to the town clerk's office and found the page in the town records that describes the original establishment of the road. It was dated September 3rd, 1811.
I always keep in mind that real estate documents may be looked at hundreds of years from now, so I always use a four-digit date. Of course, if I put a legible four-digit date in my notarial certificate, it's not too important for the signers to also use a four-digit date. |
