Apparently this all happened in Aberdeen, Mississippi. In Mississippi, for some absentee ballots, the elector must appear before a notary and swear to an affidavit that is printed on the back of the envelope. I wonder what happens if the voter is in a place like California, which has mandatory wording for the jurat. Will they accept a California jurat that's stapled to the envelope?
