I would do a lot of research on this discipline, as the equipment and ongoing support, commitment, etc. are quite expensive. Although I had contracts with school districts, county agencies, schools and college nursing programs, the equipment is pricey, and you never know when they will decide to upgrade the equipment and yours becomes obsolete, requiring an entirely new purchase. You will need to have a location that is convenient and well trafficked to attract high volume business.
The FBI/DOJ requires end-users to have a liaison company who actually uploads the fingerprints to the DOJ who then uploads to the FBI once they have run their scan. I'm not sure what your question re. protocol is. All I did was get listed on CA's website as an authorized certified roller offering live scan fingerprinting services in my county/city and people and agencies found me that way. I also advertised in my local area.
Do your homework, as it wouldn't be lucrative if you're not offering a service in high demand for your area. |
