Janet, I believe that is correct. I’ve read that it makes a difference if you trade the car in, or sell it to an individual. Donating the vehicle is also an option, as it then becomes a charitable deduction.
Since hubby is a mechanic, we keep our vehicles 15-20 years. Barring the unexpected, the new vehicle is our forever vehicle. |
