It's been a long time. But, I do recall I had a signing once for an out-of-state TC (don't recall if it was Georgia or some other state) that they were requiring specific verbiage to an Acknowledgment that was not California-compliant and had some Jurat similarities. We went back and forth on this. I explained to them and sent them a copy of the California Notary Handbook citing the specific codes insofar as a Jurat having to be California-compliant with the exact wording and an Acknowledgment was either California-compliant or could be whatever their state required. We were working with several of their attorneys and they were able to provide me with their state's requirements, which their Acknowledgment met.

Guess they were okay with my questioning them. We've worked together several times. Smile
