When it comes to signing agreements, be careful. Lots of signing services have their own agreements they ask NSAs to sign. Many (if not most) of them include provisions that are very one-sided - and not in your favor. You should feel free to make changes or completely line out sections that you're not comfortable with. (An example is non-compete clauses, some of which are just untenable.] Just beware that it could mean you won't get any work from them. But you need to weigh the risk vs. the reward.
Conversely, because of the small amount of available work, if you add your own terms, even though they make lots of sense, they could easily just decide to move on to the next person in line. [The exception is if you live in an area with very little competition.] That's one big part of why it's a very bad time to try to break into this field. |
