Had a call from a settlement company yesterday for a seller's package to be signed 4/25 or 4/26. I'd never worked with them before. After a few questions, I gave the caller my quote of $150. She said she'd have to check with client. "Kiss that goodbye," I thought. Well, she did call back a couple of hours later ... to let me know they'd hired another notary. (at least she let me know)
In researching them (since I'd never worked with them before), I found they have a 4-1/2 star rating on FB and Yelp for working with/for them. BUT, they have a 1-star rating in Glass Door citing "Pay is bad for industry and location."
I know, I know. I should've just asked what they're willing to pay rather than give them a quote. Silly me, talking on the phone while driving to a signing. Wonder what the other notary is getting .... ??
Nope, not naming the company and they're not listing in SC. All I'll say is they're a title and settlement company in Virginia. |
