A fetus is still a human. A baby will be called an embryo from conception until the eighth week of development. After the eighth week, the baby will be called a fetus until it’s born. Is a fetus considered a child? The child may be appropriately addressed as a fetus from the eight-week mark and on, and baby the entire pregnancy.
So being a fetus is another term and has nothing to do with viability. After 8 weeks, they are all called a "fetus" or "baby" until birth. |
