"AhA, the approval process is the problem. Now, who makes the rules on the "approval" process? And our great POTUS has already taken steps to bypass FDA regulations."
You really have no clue about how this works, do you? You don't understand how drugs are developed, how they're tested and approved, do you? All you hear is "regulations", and your Trump-inspired Pavlovian response is that we have to get rid of them.
The approval process is there to make sure the cure doesn't kill people. It requires several phases of clinical trials to monitor not only whether the drug works, but what the potential side effects might be.
Do you remember thalidomide? It was a sedative developed in the 50s and was widely prescribed for pregnant women for depression. Turned out it caused horrific birth defects and babies who only survived a day or two. THAT is one of the reasons why there's an approval process.
And if your great POTUS is willing to bypass FDA regulations and rush a vaccine into production before it has been proven both safe and effective, I hope he and his entire family are willing to be at the head of the line when the injections are given.
